On May 30, 1922 The Lincoln Memorial was officially dedicated. The Lincoln Memorial, built to honor the 16th president, is in Washington, D.C., and has been the site of many famous speeches, including Martin Luther King Jr.'s ''I Have a Dream'' speech delivered in 1963. The National Park Service administers the Lincoln Memorial, and since 1966, it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
