Agricultural Law

Generally, agricultural law regulates activities such as soil preparation, seed planting, crop harvesting, gardening, horticulture, dairying and ranching as they are carried out in a commercial setting.

Numerous federal statutes subsidize, regulate and otherwise directly affect agricultural activity. Several focus on agricultural workers: The Federal Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act provides protection for migrant and seasonal agricultural workers. It also provides financial assistance to farmers for the construction or improvement of farm housing and other agriculturally related purposes.
