A Flower Mound, Texas man was arrested at the scene of the crime after shooting his wife in the head at a busy intersection in Southlake on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Police say that Kenneth Martin and his wife, Linda, had just met with a divorce lawyer, leaving the attorney’s office in their own cars. Apparently, Kenneth Martin followed his wife, got out of his car at the intersection, walked over to her car and shot her. He did not attempt to flee and was taken into custody without incident. The handgun he used was recovered at the scene.
According to police, Martin and his wife, a local realtor, had been married for approximately 20 years, but had no children together, though Linda Martin, the wife, had two children from a previous marriage. Court documents show that Linda Martin filed for divorce in 2015, after the couple stopped living together, but the divorce complaint was dismissed because it was incorrectly filed in Tarrant County. The same day the complaint was dismissed, Kenneth Martin filed for divorce in Denton County and his wife countersued the following day.
